Iknika's hammer returns to her hands, but the valiant charge she was planning is stopped in its tracks by the gas. She tries holding her breath, but she does it too late, so she collapses into a coughing fit. The skeleton's plan worked on her, at least.

"That's a little enigmatic. But it looks like my house will be best, then. You can lean against the wall. Come, I'll lead you there."

Instead of appearing beside her, it envelops her, deflecting the lightning long enough for Iknika to spin and send her hammer flying at the skeleton.

The fact that the necromancer may not be dead yet shakes Iknika out of her shock, partially at least.

"Yeah... something else is happening. Maybe he has a magic failsafe?"

Iknika is silent while Koshal and Khannie argue, looking queasy and leaning on her hammer due to her knees shaking slightly. This is something both her teachers warned her about and she thought she was ready... but predictably enough it wasn't quite true.

Iknika, meanwhile, charges forth, hefting her hammer. If she knows one thing about fighting magic-users it's to get in close and clobber them before they can get a spell off. So that's what she'll do, with a battle-cry whose ferocity leaves something to be desired.

There's a long pause as Hiep tries to work out if she did actually hear what she thinks she did. But she's hungover, not drunk, so she must have.

Hiep's next test seems very straightforward. She charges Mina, tries to grapple her around the waist and bodily throw her overhead. Despite being far smaller than the minotaur, it's clear Hiep possesses superhuman strength, so Mina will have to give it her all to stand her ground.

"Ruining everything was the point, pal." Iknika hopes her quips are up to snuff. She can't be a proper knight if she can't banter with her enemies. "Your creepy necromancy plans are officially off the schedule."

[Trip with a Raptor] Wenomir arrives at the Frescot abode one spring morning. He seems packed for a hike, and there's a new guest with him. Hiep gets off Nhay herself and puts her hand on Verity's shoulder to keep her steady.
