"It's not that they treat me badly, per se," Venus says, before quickly adding a correction: "Well, most of them, I mean. One of them did shoot at me, and one of them is constantly trying to guilt trip me for 'not doing enough'..." which is actually very effective. A bullet is a deterrant, but a guilt trip makes someone keep on coming back for more.
Venus sighs.
"I mean, the main problem is that they're all somehow convinced that I'm a goddess when really all I am is the lady who moved into a long-abandoned church and cleaned it up. Sure," She blows a loose strand of hair out of her face, "plants bloom spontaneously around me, and, sure, someone could argue that I can do quasi-miraclulous things, but, like, I'm pretty obviously not a goddess, right?" she asks Mogzoku, seeking his confirmation.
Her clothes are just magicked from a leaf, plants grow livelier where she goes and sometimes spontaneously appear, she can spontaneously make a spring of holy water burst from the ground, and she lives in a church building.
...
Probably not a goddess.
"I mean," she adds, to drive her point home, "they should be praying to a real goddess, not some...magic nature lady who doesn't even have a clue how anything magic works." And she only answers their prayers because she would feel incredibly guilty if she didn't answer them, and she already feels guilty enough for getting prayed at. Getting prayed at and not doing anything? She would be the worst!
