Ambrosia glances at Khannine as she approaches and then turns back to Ana as she touches the hilt of the ssangsudo.
With that, the sword suddenly disappears into thin air.
"I'll have to teach you how to do that later." She tells Ana in a hushed voice before turning to face the upset teenager. "I happened upon Ana here and decided to teach her how to conjure something quite dear to her. I assure you that the kids are in more danger of hurting themselves while playing than anything she does."

Ana doesn't really explain anything. Kind of reminds Khannie of Victoria. Has trouble asserting herself.

Her expression softens a little at Sophie's reply and at Ambrosia's actual explanation she heaves a small sigh.

"Okay, sure, the sword's a memento or whatever. But couldn't you have done it somewhere the kids aren't watching? This is supposed to be a fun day for them. I don't wanna have to deal with Annie deciding it's a good idea to bring a FLAIL to camp."

Annie the flail girl.

A terrifying thought.

"Just be careful, okay? Please?" Khannie requests, her genuine worry about the kids of Glog plainly obvious.

The blade vanishing into the air does pique Ana's interest for a moment, but there are more pressing matters to attend to. "Um- Khannie, right? Look, I'm sure the two of us having swords in the background won't ruin the fun for anyone. We both know how to handle these, and we'll be careful. I promise." Ana tries to offer a reassuring smile.
"Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is: are we living a life that is worth the harm?"

"Ha, good thing I don't have parents," Asami remarks casually. She chuckled a bit as Cheasadh explained the mysterious device was actually a video game console, viewing it like an antique "Ancient history, huh?"

Then, launching the olympic game, Asami selects the sport where you run, prompting a selection for a number of players.

"You guys wanna play, too?" she asks politely.

My sister Brinika and I volunteer to help out when we stay with Aunt Reelshka, and also because I'm grateful for when I lived here, and what they taught me. In fact, because they fostered me here, and because Reelshka's niece came to visit and we became friends, that's why Mum and Dad adopted me." Brinika, Darko or Asami may remember, is the goblin helping Khannie organise the events outside with water balloons.

"If you don't have parents, where do you live?" Cheasadh asks, though she's also going to pick up a wiimote to join in. She's supposed to supervise, and taking part in games counts! She hopes.
Darko's eyes widen as Cheasadh describes hes foster situation. "Oh, that's really cool! I mean, that they took you in and everything. This place is really nice for doing stuff like that." He stares thoughtfully into space. Adoption seems to be something he has some complicated feelings on.

He moves to sit on the couch, taking a remote and examining it with trepidation. A weird wand with buttons. Huh.

"Are your parents missing like mine, or do you just not have any at all?" Darko asks Asami, a little nervously. He doesn't want to set her off again.

Valerie smiles wider, clearly enjoying the explanation of their efforts. "Well thank you for helping my girls. It looks like they put you through the ringer." The mud and water are quite evident. "You know, I don't think I've seen you around here before. Are you new?"

She diverts slightly to question Orlane. "Do you know where your sisters are?"

Orlane, who's returned to her construction, replies distractedly. "Um, Rosabel has Maha I think. I dunno where they are.
[Birb Babysitting]

The ringer comment gets a light-hearted chuckle from Kestrel. "Aha, well, it's no problem for me! I'm used to getting my hands dirty." Growing up on a farm meant she had to toss aside any mud-related reservations quite quickly. "Mhm! First day actually. Adventuring wasn't working to be a 'lil, uh, unreliable, so I thought I'd give this place a shot! Besides, I figure it'll help Silver adjust a bit towards taller folks." Now that she thought of it, maybe the reason Silver got on so much better with kids is because their smallness reminded him of the goblins he was used to.

"Oh, I didn't realize you had other sisters, are they older or younger?" Kestrel asks the siblings, genuinely curious. Had either of the girls mentioned that? She can't remember. So that makes four sisters, by the sounds of it. And another kid on the way! That sure sounded like a handful. No wonder Valerie was making use of GLoG.

Ambrosia's eyebrows raises. Khannie sure was passionate about this.

"I understand what you're saying. But we're actually just about done here anyway as I have my own child to take care of." She gestures to Ugi. Still propped up in Sophie's arms.
The scholar then turns to Ana. "Why don't we continue this next time you're practicing with Wenomir?"

Asami felt a bit awkward amongst the two, scratching the back of her head and selecting Shadow as her character on the game. She didn't feel the need to add on to the conversation, only noticing she was being addressed directly after a few seconds, to which she rushedly responds, "Oh, um, I just kind of live wherever." She shrugs at Darko's comment, responding, "It doesn't make a difference to me, either way, so I never thought about it."

Khannie still seems.

Uncertain.

It probably isn't obvious to those looking on, but this is her place of normalcy and safety. And people summoning magic swords out of things feels like a violation of that to Khannie. It might not make the most sense, but she sure feels it strongly.

"Okay, I'll hold you to that,"
Khannie replies to Ana, full of just as much resolve as ever. She has to trust that Sophie has whatever this is handled. With that done-

"Alright I've gotta get the next game rolling. You better do a good job cheering for your little sis," Khannie warns Ana before moving off toward Brinika and the water balloon bucket. "I think we're ready for the next one. The kids probably know how to do a water balloon toss but we may as well put on a show for 'em anyway."

The art of the water balloon toss is pretty intuitive, after all.

Cheasadh selects Princess Peach, more for the colour than any real experience or knowledge of the franchises involved. "If you speak to Sophie or Reelshka, I'm sure you're welcome to stay here." Though given her recent acceptance in PREP, which has space for boarders, that may not be entirely necessary.

Agate rescues the dragonfly, and she's very careful in doing so. She's going to try avoid getting stabbed by its Alien proboscis, but that's not truly guaranteed given she only barely knows what she's doing. She's going to try putting him onto a reed nearby, before going back to where the games are about to restart.

"Oh! Um, yeah, that'd be great!" Ana's spirit seems to brighten immediately at the prospect of meeting again in the future. There seemed to be so much Ambrosia knew, and this brief meeting was barely a scratch in the surface of what she could teach her. "Are you sure Master Wenomir won't mind?"

She nods to Khannie in reply next, still a little confused by the girl's conviction and distress. "Um, okay." It probably would be a good idea for her to watch Annie this time wouldn't it? The last thing she should do is disappoint the girl, she's done enough of that lately.

"As I said, we know one another. You could even call him a friend of mine." Ambrosia reassures with a faint smile. "He'll make it a part of your regular regime I suspect. Though it depends on what we'll agree on since I need to discuss this with him first."

She glances at Khannie as she returns to the water balloon game. That girl was more than she seemed and her attitude was interesting too. Had there been an attack on GloG recently? Or some other event caused by weapons? But then again, perhaps this was the standard attitude they had towards these things and Sophie was the more accepting one.
She hoped that Khannie was the outlier though as her attitude probably didn't rhyme all that well with GloG's goals as she understood them...

"Doesn't make a difference? Huh." Darko is a little confused by this. Missing your parents makes sense, and hating them makes sense too, but just being indifferent is a little unexpected.

He pokes at the remote, which he doesn't seem to realize is upside down. On the screen, a character is selected. It appears to be a pale, hunched creature with no head and a small, misshapen skull floating above its shoulders. It's rendered in the same style as the rest of the game, and the name underneath denotes it as Heirophant. Well, that's a little strange, considering the game definitely didn't have that in it a moment ago.

Unaware of this oddity, Darko continues talking. "I get living wherever, though. I mostly live in the theatre but my errands take me all over, so sometimes I just find random places to stay the night. None of them are as nice as here, though."

"I would be an absolute menace if I stayed here," Asami jokingly admits. Then she looks at the game, noticing an anamoly which elicits a deep groan from her.

Moving on, she finally loads into the game proper, allowing for a tutorial to display on screen. Of course, she didn't know how to play this herself, so she'd take the time to look at the visuals.

She then rolls her eyes away from Darko, rebuking, "It's a worse thing for you than it is for me, you know. I mean, god your life fucking sucks. Just... Absolutely terrible. I don't know a single person with a worse life than you."

He hefts it up, getting a good grip on it, then puts it over his head... and hucks it at Maltrika! Hopefully she's a good catcher. It's a bit high and a bit fast.

Kissa giggles, because a water balloon bursting is inherently funny. "You never lost anything. We're just playing." The girl turns toward their moms. "Mommy, we need a new balloon." She requests.

Sakura goes to where Reelshka got the first balloon, but she pauses before handing it over. "What's the magic word?"

"Please!" Kissa replies immediately, and then Sakura holds the balloon out to Maltrika.

Khannie gives Annie a thumbs up. "I'll holler when it's Time to start the next game. Just gotta get this stuff put away."

But then Annie is asking Gilda an important question! Gilda looks up from her claw sharpening imperiously. Annie's observation is a good one. Gilda's hands ARE sharp. Not any good for catching water balloons.

Gilda reaches out with one set of talons, pressing them against a handy scratching log, and carves four parallel furrows into it with ease.

"Sharp."

Than she gives her hand a flick, causing a subtle coral colored sheen to sparkle over them. She repeats her clawing of the log but this time it isn't even scratched.

"Soft," Gilda concludes, holding out her hand in case Annie wants to feel the talons to confirm. Should she do so they're going to have to plush feeling of fingers. "It's griff magic. Mom taught me how to sheath my talons so I don't ruin the furniture."

Having read the tutorial, Asami starts the match proper. Of course, she manages to have good timing at the start seeing as she has a preternatural mind, though obviously not all of her mental qualities being so mighty. Darko stays quiet about the language conversation. He doesn't seem to have a big opinion on that either way. Plus, he's a little distracted by the other topic.

"I mean... I don't know how I actually feel. It's easier to just do stuff." He swipes his controller around clumsily. His character appears to be running into a wall.

Darko frowns. "I mean, thinking is different from feeling, right? I don't have problems thinking." He's thinking right now, in fact. "Sometimes it's hard to concentrate if there's too much going on, but that's normal. But I just try to stay in the moment."

He nods thoughtfully at Cheasadh's comment. "Yeah, you're right! The Wizards look really scary and they're nice, so I imagine that's true of most other people here too. And I like people."

Valerie laughs. This is very cute. "And my girls immediately got a hold of you, huh? It looks like you're doing a good job already. Glog's lucky to have a nice girl like you helping out."

"We're quadruplets." Eshe cuts in to partially answer Kes's question.

"Uh huh, us and Rosabel and Jaazha. And Maha is our baby sister." Orlane completes the answer for her sister.

Kestrel blinked. That was a new name. There was five of them, not four, and rising! "You're quadruplets!?" She looked back at Valerie. "That must have been quite the introduction to parenting, huh." She visibly beams at Valerie's compliment. "Aw, thanks! But really, it's my pleasure. I've been having fun!" Despite her outwardly downplaying it it's quite clear she's very happy to hear the praise. Though it is slowly starting to dawn on her that there's something she's fairly certain she was supposed to do before she started getting into work. What was it again?

(Sidelines)

Ambrosia holds out her hands to that Sophie can hand back Ugi. "With Sophie here I very much doubt it, Ana." The scholar remarks with a faint smile. Speaking with confidence in the abilities sees seen in the woman.
Then she looks between the two. "So how do you two know one another exactly?"

[Summer Water Balloon Party]

"OKAY LISTEN UP KIDDOS!"
Khannie yells, amping her voice to be heard by the children. "The water balloon toss is up next!"

Then she draws forth... a water balloon!

It is FAR less bloated and floppy than the ones that were being used for the relay race. This one is designed to be able to MAYBE survive falling on the ground after being thrown. Maybe. If you're LUCKY.

"This one's easy. You line up with your partner and when I say GO! you toss your balloon to them! If you catch it and it doesn't pop then you take a step back and and wait for me to say GO! again! Whichever team still has a balloon last WINS!"

That sounds pretty simple, right?

GILDA answers Annie's question. "You mean can I make them sharper? Or if someone with sausage fingers can make them sharp?" she asks while padding off toward the next round of games which she and Annie are obviously going to win.

GABE trots along energetically. "Don't worry, we can still win the next one. It isn't about being fast it's about being careful. I'm good at that!"

GLORY grins when the rescued dragonfly goes whizzing away. "Are you any good at catching balloons?" she asks.

"Average height?" Asami looks at Cheasadh with disbelief before holding a fist up to her mouth and giggling with her eyes closed. Grinning, she points towards Cheasadh, remarking, "You think you're-?" She then doubles over in belly laughter, holding a hand on her forehead. "Bahaha, average height. That's a good one."

She wipes a tear from her eye, turning back to Darko and looking annoyed for a second. "Same difference," she says. She sighs and shoots an empathetic gaze towards him. "I think you should take time out of your day to self-reflect," she says.
