A pretty big locker. Bigger than most lockers not made for dragons tend to be,

But perhaps every locker is made to be the size for their respective student to be shoved into. Just to make sure the bully team has something to do.

"Uh, you probably shouldn't mention-" Khannie begins only to be interrupted by a loud GASP!
"W-what!?" Soup exclaims, doubling back in shock as his eyes widen. "You've never had crepes!? That's inexcusable! Unjustifiable! Really really bad! Quick we need to get you to the nearest kitchen RIGHT NOW!"
"Soup, our Super-Heroics class isn't even over ye-"
"No time! Mary hasn't ever had crepes before! And just listen to her stomach! That is a hunger that CAN NOT be left undefeated!" the kitchen warrior proclaims without a moment of hesitation. He holds out one hand for Mary to take.

Khannie does a mostly good job of not laughing as well when her friend laughs.
Mostly.
Once she's told she can start moving again she ALSO manages to restrain herself from immediately looking at the sketch.
"Is it ready?" she asks, holding back her excitement.
Mary, much like Arthfael, is REALLY good at drawing. It's a skill that Khannie is absolutely garbage at. Her illusions might be great but she has a lot of trouble just sort of... imagining up things. They have to be something she's seen before. Easier if it's something she can see nearby. Every time she's tried to just make something up it has always been less than stellar.

She doesn't appear to be in any hurry. Just strolling along drinking from a juice box. They had a bunch of them on sale over in the cafeteria and one of the flavors was habanero cherry! OBVIOUSLY she needed to buy a few. Her face is a bit flushed and her nose is running slightly.
That's how you can tell something is GOOD and spicy.
But wait, what's this?

"So... this isn't a trap, right?" she asks the locker.

Khannie narrows her eyes and the locker.
Then cautiously approaches.
Sure enough, the lock is firmly clipped on the outside to prevent anyone from opening it.
"Dunno your combination," Khannie calls to whatever poor loser got shoved in their locker. "If you tell me it then I'll gettcha out."
Khannie is pretty glad she doesn't have to worry much about getting shoved into her locker. For several reasons.
One?
She's cool.
Two?

"And if for some reason it has to have humans, I'm still not bringing it anywhere there are any, so I'm not exactly hurting anyone, am I, Mary?" She gives the demon princess a little boop on the nose with a greasy finger and starts up the stairs, sending the "follow me, little duck" signal to the kyld again, still trying to parse the last thing he said. Did she witness its birth, or was this its way of telling her that it has babies with it? Or was she leaning too hard on the mother analogy and now he was telling her how he thought of motherhood?

Deprive a kingfisher of fish and it might struggle, but it might also be able to adapt to a fishless diet. Kookaburras managed it, adapting their hunting tactics to snakes and lizards in the dry outback of Australia.
The kyld and Fred will follow Tahara up the stairs, to the Riverside landing. There's more trash here, the litter being quite modern in origin- cigarette butts, plastic bags, MagDonald's burger boxes, bits of newspaper, and so on. The door is a plastic residential front door, rather standard design, with little evidence to suggest what part of Riverside it opens up into. There's more stairs going up, into the less stable part of the stairwell where things change and they don't have any location details. Halfway up between the Riverside door and the next landing is another individual. This one's a girl, taller than the last three individuals the group have met and older as well, about fourteen. She's got reddish-brown fur, tufted ears, a bushy tail sticking from under her skirt, and brown eyes. She's wearing a PREP uniform, modified slightly with wooden buttons shaped like acorns and the complete absence of anything metal plus no blazer. She's also bleeding, having picked up some odd, circular injuries on her arms and a rip and some scratches through her shirt and the fur beneath on her left side. She's paying a bit more attention to those and doesn't immediately notice the newcomers.

Khannie sure is judgmental about the other students around her. It's not very HEROIC of her.
Out of the locker tumbles a particularly rotund porcine student. He has a dark, mustard-esque skin tone though his front is a bit lighter for some reason. Which is visible because aside from his PREP uniform shorts he's wearing a uniform top that looks like it was sized for someone several feet shorter than him, modified into being a glorified vest. It does a good job of covering his armpits and shoulder blades and not much else. And of course he is topped by a large, wide wizardy hat. And glasses.
This would be Macan, who is in Khannie's Magic and Wizardry Class. Many kids accuse him of being a teacher's pet because Mr Vallevert clearly treats him as a favorite, but he's never actually done anything to flatter him. He's also a regular at the theater club if Khannie has ever gone.
"Thanks, Khannie. If you hadn't come along I'd have been in there until fifth period. And that would have been some seriously overcooked bacon." he sighs, his delivery absolutely serious.

Who is this guy again? Khannie is pretty sure he's in her wizardry class, the one with the weird tiny bunny dude instructor. She should probably remember his name, but doesn't. It doesn't help that he remembers HER name and now she feels self-conscious about it. She plays it off by being cool, leaning against the lockers and folding her arms over her chest.
"Neh, don't sweat it. It isn't a big deal," she replies casually. "Who the heck stuck you in there, anyway?"

This piggy guy is also a BIGGY guy and wrestling him into a locker would be quite a feat.

"You're a gracious rescuer." he says, though his expression darkens at the question.
"It was Cen and his crew. They know that the only magic I know is healing and evocations I can't use on other students, so I can't do much against them. So they used a grease spell to stuff me in there. My only consolation is that magic grease vanishes when the spell wears off. Or I'd have to hit the showers, too." No one wants a greased pig hanging out in their class.

Inwardly (okay fine maybe a little outwardly) she's laughing at the kitchen warrior's antics. He's just so full of energy, all channeled into one, slightly ridiculous purpose.

Being fair here, most people at PREP are at least a little bit ridiculous. Khannie is a pokemon wizard. Mary is a devil princess. The list goes on.
As soon as Mary takes Soup's hand he yells, "FLYING MITTEN!" his voice taking on an oddly resonant tone as he does. Almost immediately a giant yellow oven mit comes zooming in through one of the gym windows and comes to a hovering halt in front of them.
The raccoon tailed teen will hop up onto the magical mit, pulling Mary up with him. And then?
ZOOM!
The flying mitten goes rocketing away toward the nearest campus kitchen.

"...right, I knew that," Khannie lies. She watches over Mary's shoulder for a few minutes before quickly growing bored. She hops onto her bed and begins practicing a mostly harmless wizard spell instead.
Khannie will probably be at that for a while.

This is possibly ill-advised but Mary finds it exciting. It's not every day a random stranger whisks you away on a flying oven mit in order to cook you a good meal (at least she hopes it's a good meal).

Fifteen minutes pass. An hour. Two. Good art takes time.
Finally, Mary is finished.
On the tablet, is an image of the dorm room rendered in something not quite like watercolors (Mary couldn't figure out how to get the brush right). It's a style that captures the interplay of colors well - the grey of the walls, the red of Mary's lava bath, the multicolored Thanksmas lights.
And of course Khannie is there, in her silly pose. It's not quite right for the setting, but Mary has dutifully recorded it as it was. Her exact features are blurred (a hazard of the style and Mary's inexperience with the tools) but if you squint, you can recognize her.

Khannie was about to ask how the heck someone wears a wizard hat backwards, but then Mac specifies that we're talking about a DIFFERENT sort of hat here. Now she's imagining... what? Some big orc guy with a ball cap?
Like the one Khannie wears.
But Khannie doesn't wear hers backwards.
She tugs her giant poofy pony tail out through the hole in the the back.
...honestly Khannie doesn't wear the wizard hat, either. She thinks they look somewhere between silly and dumb.

The big green guy with four arms and the tusks! Okay yeah now Khannie knows who Mac is talking about. Right, that guy is about as brash and loud as Khannie. But he's a bit more mean about it.
"Mm, yeah, that's a problem huh?" Khannie replies with a nod. Being garbage at magic still doesn't help. "You want me to deck 'em for you?"
Obviously that would solve the problem.

Once Mary gets up Khannie is quick to set her books aside and move in for a better look.
"Oh, cool! You did a really good job! I think once you figure out the stuff this thing can do you'll be able to make even cooler pictures with it!"
Now they just have to figure out how to save the picture!
They know how to do that, right?

No one is in here right now.
BUT SUDDENLY!
Soup comes zooming in through the window atop FLYING OVEN-MITT! with Mary in tow!
As soon as they land he goes zipping over to one of the cabinets with the same impossible speed, precision, and ferocity with which he was doing battle with Khannie! The cabinet is opened and out comes a griddle! Then ingredients for pancakes! Then fruit and chocolate and creme! It takes only the span of a few short seconds for all the needed materials to be gathered on top of the counter.

Khannie was about to ask how the heck someone wears a wizard hat backwards, but then Mac specifies that we're talking about a DIFFERENT sort of hat here. Now she's imagining... what? Some big orc guy with a ball cap?
Like the one Khannie wears.
But Khannie doesn't wear hers backwards.

Obviously that would solve the problem.

Once Mary gets up Khannie is quick to set her books aside and move in for a better look.
"Oh, cool! You did a really good job! I think once you figure out the stuff this thing can do you'll be able to make even cooler pictures with it!"
Now they just have to figure out how to save the picture!
They know how to do that, right?

BUT SUDDENLY!
Soup comes zooming in through the window atop FLYING OVEN-MITT! with Mary in tow!
As soon as they land he goes zipping over to one of the cabinets with the same impossible speed, precision, and ferocity with which he was doing battle with Khannie! The cabinet is opened and out comes a griddle! Then ingredients for pancakes! Then fruit and chocolate and creme! It takes only the span of a few short seconds for all the needed materials to be gathered on top of the counter.

Mat looks up at the three girls and sneers at them a little before going back to patching her injuries using tissue paper and a small roll of sellotape. "You guys are lucky the magic I whacked it with is still holding. Only way I could escape was to Pacify it for a bit." The magic has worn off, if anyone can test; it's not attacking because it's outnumbered and it's not stupid.
"You stole my friend Synthia's war face." Fred doesn't sound too angry, but she's got her hand on the hilt of her nimcha. And Mat winces at the accusation, since she knows what else would have been found in that locker.

Didn't Mac JUST say that he could only do basic heal and harm spells?
Khannie isn't sure if she would call that really good. Her skill with illusion magic is top notch and she can apply a pretty wide range of effects too! Different levels of coverage, different levels of sensory coverage, baffles, screens, invisibility. She feels like she has ALMOST figured out how to mask spells like she's learned to mask sights and sounds, too.
Once she's got that figured out she's planning on banishing fox smell forever.
Won't help when she's sleeping though.
Thankfully she doesn't have to sleep much.

Mac is very good at casting spells that would kill things or put things back together. Black and white magic is very simple. That doesn't mean it's easy. Fire, lightning, ice, there are lots of different things that go into making something dead. That's why it takes so much practice despite being very straight-forward.

Mary has no idea how to rate her hunger. "I ate not that long ago, but then I was playing volleyball for a while and I could really use a snack." Thanks to her unusual biology (or rather lack thereof), she doesn't technically have to eat. But she likes to. And that means she can put a lot of food away if she puts her mind to it.

Mary doesn't really understand the idea of saving an image. Rather she has a similar, but different perspective. "It's really nice. It's too bad you can only put one painting on a canvas."

In spite of how impossible it is within five seconds he's holding out a pair of fruit filled crepes to Mary, each perfectly presented on the plate with a drizzle of chocolate and a dusting of powdered sugar.
Soup's expression is EXTREMELY serious in spite of how silly this is.

They provided it all, I just... put it where it was, and had to come up with a way to stop people finding it. I was given an address in Skyside to deliver three tapes to, but... that got in the way of my first delivery." Mat gestures at 'Lenny' at that last bit.
"If I didn't, they said my brother would have the kind of accident that prevents an open casket funeral, and he's an idiot but he's my brother, y'know?" Mat reaches behind her to where there's a small bag and pulls out a video cassette, placing it next to her. "I dunno where to go from here, anyway. I mean, I know the way back, and I've got the Skyside address, but, like... Do I hand it over, do I try and get you to stop 'em, knowing it won't fix my brother's idiocy and he'll get into a mess like this again?" Mat sighs and leans forward, propping her head up on her right hand.

You could. There are sometimes those really dramatic sword fights where people warp around and swing really fast but no one actually gets hurt in any notable way somehow. Khannie really isn't quite sure how that works.
